In 1659 werd het huidige franse deel afgescheiden van het goothertogdom Luxemburg. (Frans-Spaanse Oorlog van 1635 tot 1659) De vestingen Stenay, Thionville en Montmédy werden Frans bezit.

De kaarten zijn afkomstig uit de Atlas Maior van 1665. Opnieuw uitgegeven bij Librero. De afscheiding van het franse deel is hier nog niet opgenomen.
